The Climate Countdown Committee holds a referendum asking the JCU community whether the University should pursue Net Zero by 2030. With 97.2% in favor and 2.8% indifferent votes, the CCC announces the launch of campaigns to achieve Net Zero at JCU.
JCU hosts a TEDxJohnCabotUniversity a TEDClimate Countdown event to "champion and accelerate solutions to the climate crisis, turning ideas into action."
2022
Timeline
2020
The "Roadmap to Net Zero 2030," a year-by-year comprehensive strategy to lead JCU into climate neutrality by the landmark year of 2030, is completed.
2023-2029
JCU conducts yearly review processes and enforces corrective action where the yearly goals of Green House Gas (GHG) reduction or compensation are not met.
2030
JCU reaches Net Zero.
